This is awkward – describing yourself to others. Like those ice breakers they force you do in college orientation or at conferences. My name is Kelly and I am a writer. I used to say things like “want to be a writer, aspiring writer, sorta kinda a writer” but I finally figured it out. If you’re writing then you are a writer. Whether it’s good or not is a different can of worms but you’re writing and that’s the important part.
I don’t know if you can learn to be a good writer and that is probably subjective anyway, but that is what I am trying to do. So, I thought I would start this blog. Mostly its an exercise – to keep me writing and thinking. My writing (currently working on a Fantasy Fiction novel) and the process involved (mine and others) will be sprinkled in with commentary on current events. What does current events have to do with writing? Nothing. They’re interesting and they give you something to write about. : )

You go girl. You’ve inspired me; I’m going to start my own. I’ve already thought of my blogging address thingy, I just need to figure out how to get it up and going. And I actually joined facebook yesterday. Before you know it I won’t even be using a chisel and slate to write my novel on!
